Questar Fueling to Build CNG-Fueling Facilities for Swift Transportation and Central Freight Lines

SALT LAKE CITY–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Questar Fueling has signed an agreement to build, own and operate a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling facility in Houston, Texas, that will serve up to 200 natural gas-powered trucks operated by Swift Transportation and Central Freight Lines. These trucks are projected to use about 5 million gallons of natural gas per year. The majority of the trucks will use a private time-fill facility in which the trucks fill overnight. The remainder will use a five-lane, high-speed-fueling facility that will also be open to the public.

“Questar Corporation is excited to announce a partnership between these ‘best-in-class’ carriers and our fueling company — Questar Fueling,” said Ron Jibson, president, CEO and chairman of Questar Corporation. “Swift Transportation and Central Freight Lines are industry leaders in the adoption of CNG as a transportation fuel for the heavy-duty market. I commend them for their foresight in recognizing natural gas as a fuel that could transform the industry. With such abundant supplies of natural gas in America, it’s only a matter of time before we see more trucking companies switching fuels to cut costs, increase efficiencies and improve the air we breathe.”  Read the entire article HERE
