Governor’s Water Strategy Protects Wyoming’s Water for Generations to Come

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Matt Mead released Wyoming’s Water Strategy today. The Water Strategy was developed with the input of Wyoming people who were part of nine meetings held in communities across the state. The Strategy contains ten initiatives put forward by local elected leaders, tribal representatives, interested groups, and individual citizens. More than seven thousand individuals commented on the Water Strategy, in person, through email, or by survey responses. The Water Strategy is the start of development, planning, and implementation for the final ten initiatives and mirrors the approach used in Governor Meads 2013 Energy Strategy. Alpha Natural Resources plans new LNG plant in Wyoming

Alpha Natural Resources plans to build a liquefied natural gas plant in Wyoming. The company said the Plum Energy plant, which will operate near Gillette, Wyoming, and the Eagle Butte Mine, will help provide fuel for trucks used for mines owned by Alpha Coal West, a subsidiary of Alpha Natural Resources. The plant will produce an estimated 28,500 gallons of LNG per day. Of this output, 6,400 gallons per day will be used to fuel trucks. Read the entire article HERE…

Denver’s Escalera Resources plans $1.8B gas-to-liquids plant; among nation’s first
Escalera Resources Co., a Denver oil and gas company, is planning to build a $1.8 billion plant in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to convert natural gas into liquids, specifically diesel fuel.

Governor Releases Report Showing Wyoming Can Lead in High Horsepower LNG

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Matt Mead unveiled a report today showing that Wyoming is well positioned to be a leader in developing a liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry for high horsepower uses. The “Wyoming LNG Roadmap Report” looks at how LNG can supplement diesel in mining, rail, drilling, pressure pumping and over-the-road trucking industries.

“This report shows there is potential for expansion of LNG use in Wyoming that can add value to our natural gas, be a sound business decision for Wyoming industries and lead to job growth,” Governor Mead said.  Read the entire article HERE…

Governor Mead’s Energy Strategy

Wyoming is an energy state.  Energy touches all aspects of our lives—and that is the case whether we think about it or not.  Just take a look at the last six months. Low prices for natural gas and declining demand for coal will affect revenue from state severance taxes and royalties.  High gasoline prices took a toll on families and businesses alike.  Pavillion, Wyoming, became a focal point for a national discussion on hydraulic fracturing.
